About

Amy Modesti was destined to become an artist. Residing in Cropseyville, NY with her artistic parents, Modesti attended Tamarac High School, where her passion for the visual arts originated. It wasn’t until she attended Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) in Troy, NY where she commenced her studies within the visual arts.

Modesti earned an A.S. Degree in Fine Art from HVCC in December 2009. After gaining hands-on experience as a graphic design intern, she decided to attend The College of Saint Rose. However, her interest in graphic design had faded after her first semester.

Modesti returned to HVCC where she continued her love for photography as a photographer for “The Hudsonian” college newspaper. From volunteering her time at The Teaching Gallery and the Fulton Street Gallery in Troy, NY, her interest in arts management blossomed. In 2011, she transferred to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) where she graduated in May 2014 with a BA in art and arts management, Cum Laude.

Although her preferred medium is in digital photography, she also excels in drawing and painting. Modesti’s work was recently exhibited at The Rustic Barn Pub in Troy, NY as part of Amy Modesti's 30th Birthday Extravaganza, Local Legends Featuring the Works of Amy Modesti and Kevin Wayne at Eden Advisory Services and Café in Loudonville, NY, Reconnecting: MCLA Alumni Show" at MCLA Gallery 51 in North Adams, MA, Dick Quinn Memorial Concert and Art Show held at The Hangar On The Hudson in Troy, NY, and “The Afterlife: An Interpretation of the Hereafter” at the Jarvis Rockwell Gallery in North Adams, MA. Her photographs have also been featured in publications as "The Eastwick Press", "The Xperienced Monthly", "The Spot 518", "NYS Music", Nippertown, “The Beacon” MCLA student newspaper, "The Hudsonian" HVCC Student Newspaper,  an advertisement for the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant in Troy, NY, and other printed material.

Modesti’s mission is to make a difference within the visual and performing arts community. Her passion for the arts continues to thrive through her creative expressions of documentation, emotions, and experiences shown within her paintings, digital photographs, and her journalism writings. Be sure to attend Modesti's upcoming exhibition shows on 7/1/2019 "Local Legends: Americana at The Tiki Bar" at Eden Advisory Services and Café in Loudonville, NY and she'll be a vendor as part of the 1 year Anniversary of the local online radio station, "RadioRadioX", held at Chrome Food and Spirits in Waterford, NY on 7/14/2019.
